Will a Bluetooth headset work for VoIP applications on PC?
Question by K-Bankers: Will a Bluetooth headset work for VoIP applications on PC?
I’d like to know if it is possible to use a standard Bluetooth wireless headset on a Bluetooth enabled PC computer for Voice over IP applications (Voice Chat, Internet Phones, etc). And if so, what models can do this? Thanks!

Yes, Bluetooth is just another type of “Wireless” connection. No different than directly plugging a headset into your computer!

yes absolutely one has nothing to do with the other if your computer is blue tooth compatible then all the peripherals will work with it
Wrong. All VOIP applications are not the same. What matters is the service profile the app uses. If the app works with and requires a “hands free” profile, then most any BT headset will fit the bill. However, if your VOIP application can only use an audio profile, like Microsoft Lync, then 90% of the BT headsets on the market will not work. This is because the software only recognizes them as wireless speakers, and does not pull incoming audio from the headset’s microphone. If you have an external mic connected directly to your computer (or one built-in), you can use that for speaking, and the headset for listening. But that defeats the entire purpose. Check your VOIP software’s compatibility list first.
