Is there a way to tweak iPhone 4 or app to use Wi-Fi Calling with the native number?
blah b Asked: Is there a way to tweak iPhone 4 or app to use Wi-Fi Calling with the native number?
I have an iPhone 4. When I had a myTouch 4g, I could make phone calls using Wi-Fi calling because of a feature that was allowed by the carrier. I was wondering if I could tweak the iPhone 4 somehow or use an app that allows me to make phone calls using Wi-Fi with the native number?
I know there are VOIP services available but they do not use the native number.
Is there a method to do this?
Answers:
Your number is tied to your carrier, so you could not use a 3rd party app because they would need access to it.I would suggest getting an app with a generic number.Use your native to call friends and family, and the app to call pizza, work, pay bills, whatever so you don't burn your minutes talking to the people you don't want to speak with anyway.

Does anyone have a VOIP phone that actually works?
Phil Asked: Does anyone have a VOIP phone that actually works?
I've talked to people who were using VOIP and the sound quality would vary from normal (as good as a land line) to what I call "ham radio operator quality" during a given call.I also have a friend who got VOIP from his cable company and he lost connectivity enough that he ended up getting a cell phone as a back-up.Who out there has found a VOIP service that works as reliably and with sound quality as good as land line?Anybody?
Answers:
I had it about to weeks ago. Absolutely no lie, I was saying "Can you hear me now?"
We have a VOIP phone, every morning our phones are saying no line, a couple times of day this will happen also.Sound quality is very good, have only had one person the delay is hard to take.We have had for about 10 days now and if this keeps up, I am calling my provider and asking a few questions. This VOIP box is between my router and ISP access point. We are on a wireless high speed line here.

why are there other search engines when Google does everything?
jack of all trades Asked: why are there other search engines when Google does everything?
Google has everything it wipes the floor with all competition. so why does other companies bother trying to get better? they’ll never beat google.
gmail- best there is, short of paying for something
maps- maps, satellite, 3D & street view.
what else is there?
- voice-FREE voip
- weather
- stock quotes
- time
- sports scores
- sunrise/set
- spell check
- intelligent calculator- the simple “5+3” to “527 feet per second to meters per second”
- web browser. i don’t see other companies offering that
- public information
- dictionary
- census info
- youtube
- and so much more.
plus, if anyone still uses dial up, its the only search engine that doesn’t take several minutes to load. their page is so blank & yet so functional!
and, google has never gone down or gotten slow due to excessive load.
so why do places like askjeeves, altavista, yahoo, msn still doing in the search engine business?
Answers:
Um, well I have one answer, you should know that a search engine creator gets money every single time a new computer come onto a search engines’ creators? And the another thing is that some search engines can’t go all around the world in the web and stuff like that, because there is a certain perimeter. Plus, some search engines such as bing have a complete copy of google to extend longer connection, so It’s either for the money or the connection. And another thing is that not ALL people like Google so they may prefer other search ENGINES. And plus, Google is mainly only for English speaking people so that may be another reason why they have other search engines in China, etc.
First not everyone likes Google, I’m like you and use it for everything but others prefer other sites for their own reasons. There’s also billions of websites, blogs and videos for for those who try to make money online being on multiple search engines is a bonus. Google also generally caters to english speaking people this is why in some other countries such as China and Russia for example their home grown search engines are dominant because they cater specifically to locals.

Changing / hiding your IP will not help as all the IPs that you can possibly use are within your country and they all go through the same checkpoint that blocks what you want.

Undecided Question: Is it allowed to use Tesco Mobile for browsing the web on a laptop?
Christian Peters Asked: Undecided Question: Is it allowed to use Tesco Mobile for browsing the web on a laptop?
Im not too sure if it breaches the contract in any way.
It does say:
3.1 Inclusive Credit can be used for:
(a) texts sent in the UK to UK mobiles,
(b) GPRS browsing on the mobile internet in the UK
I am not to sure if that means only on a mobile.
Then although it says
4. Inclusive Credit and Data Charges
4.1 Inclusive Credit can be used on GPRS and 3G networks (as applicable to your handset), for personal internet use via your mobile phone whilst you are in the UK.
AND
You may not use your SIM Card:
(a) in, or connected to, any other device including modems;
(b) to allow the continuous streaming of any audio / video content, enable Voice over Internet (VOIP), P2P or file sharing; or
(c) in such a way that adversely impacts the service to other Tesco Mobile or Telefonica O2 UK customers.
IF it is not allowed and you still do it, will they know?
Please only answer if you are sure, thank you in advance.
Answers:
If that mobile allows use of internet, then definitely you can use it for web browsing it does not matter whether you use it on your desk top computer or your lap top.
Is there a question here?
I WAS a Slave, for years.
But—- I ESCAPED the Democrat Plantation.
I am now Free. And the Democrats will NEVER get their little dik-skinners ahold of me again!!!!!!
Thats what she said.
You are Absolutely right.Unfortunately, people can't see that because they look beneath their feet without looking at the whole image.
All they can imagine inside themselves is "I can't find a job !" or " Prices are growing fast !" or "My boss is an asshole but I can't say no !" or "I don't have anytime for my kids because I have another shift" or "the food is not healthy as it used to be" or "I need to get another job" or "I can't pay my bill anymore"…etc.
But they can't see the whole image and who is doing that to them. There is enough money for everyone on this earth.
All pretty true. The average work day of a modern day American: 8 hours.Average work day of a hunter-gatherer: Less than 5 hours.Oh how smart and advanced we are.I thought our inventions were supposed to make our lives easier!

Undecided Question: what is the best voice over IP (VoIP) system?
scuffryda Asked: Undecided Question: what is the best voice over IP (VoIP) system?
I am using a broadband satellite internet (up-to 2 mb/s) through Hughesnet.com but can switch to any satellite or similar ISP and need input on any VoIP system that are the best for this set-up.
Answers:
VoIP won't work on satellite ISP because the uplink speed from your modem is too slow.i know as i tried Vonage on WildBlue.you will need a 2 way highspeed connection, like most cable modems or upscale DSL services. i have used Vonage on both ATT DSL and Comcast cable with excellent results.
